Childhood Cancer Guides |
According to the
Institute of Medicine, approximately 270,000 survivors of childhood
cancer live in the U.S. Because treatments are curing more children and
teens than ever before, that number will increase every year. The
majority of survivors face emotional or physical late effects from the
chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation that cured their cancer.
ChildhoodCancerGuides.org provides information and resources for
childhood cancer patients as well as long term survivors that are now in
young adulthood. |

This is a website for
parents, friends, and families of children who have or had childhood
cancer. The resource center was created by and for people who know young
people who are recovering from cancer. Thankfully, the majority of
children diagnosed with cancer will survive. However, survivorship can
come with a price in the form of long-term medical, psychosocial, and/or
neurocognitive problems due to chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. |
