Children's Brain Tumor Foundation The Children's Brain Tumor Foundation, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1988 by dedicated parents, physicians and friends. Childhood Cancer Guides According to the Institute of Medicine, approximately 270,000 survivors of childhood cancer live in the U.S. Because treatments are curing more children and teens than ever before, that number will increase every year. The majority of survivors face emotional or physical late effects from the chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation that cured their cancer. ChildhoodCancerGuides.org provides information and resources for childhood cancer patients as well as long term survivors that are now in young adulthood.
Cure Search Formerly National Childhood Cancer Foundation or NCCF. They are dedicated to raising private funds for childhood cancer research for the Children's Oncology Group, the world's largest cooperative cancer research organization. Together, they are committed to conquering childhood cancer through scientific discovery and compassionate care. (800-458-6223)
Outlook: Life beyond Childhood Cancer To address the needs of survivors of childhood cancer and their families. By providing information, they hope to give survivors and their families the tools to help them become their own advocate. Aspects of Outlook can be valuable to almost anyone. Within the personal stories one can witness strength, resiliency, and love for life. This site offers information on health issues, financial issues, as well as other resources.
Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States As the world's largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research, we're dedicated to not only eradicating this disease, but to providing support to families. We provide support and educational resources to childhood brain tumor patients and their families. For more information: 800-253-6530
Pediatric Oncology Resource Center This is a website for parents, friends, and families of children who have or had childhood cancer. The resource center was created by and for people who know young people who are recovering from cancer. Thankfully, the majority of children diagnosed with cancer will survive. However, survivorship can come with a price in the form of long-term medical, psychosocial, and/or neurocognitive problems due to chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery.
