On February 21st 2009, we held our first annual volunteer/donor celebration.  We believe our volunteers and donors deserve to be recognized.  We put together a fun afternoon of food, door prizes and music. Door prizes, food, centerpieces, and help were donated, to make this day memorable for all volunteers and donors who attended.  Please see the list below of people and businesses that made this day possible.  We had a total of 30 attendees join us at the Croydon Fire House Annex for this event. Everyone had a great time; please check out our pictures to get a better look at how the day went.

Thanks again to everyone who made this event possible!

We honored 4 individuals with awards.

Tricia Huber received an award for her generous donations, as well as countless hours she volunteered as a part of our board of directors.

Carol Zekovitch tearfully received an award for her countless hours of volunteer work, since Tanya started the ground work for this organization 8 years ago.

George Lewis received an award for his generous contributions over the past 2 years.  Without his contributions we would have had the opportunity to grow as much as we have.

Andrew Mancini received an award for his generous support; however he is also a valued and dedicated volunteer to Cancer Survivors Unite.

Pictures of award recipients are posted please have a look at some of the people who keep Cancer Survivors Unite moving forward each day.

In addition to these 4 award recipients, we will be mailing awards to 11 others who have made generous contributions to us over the past 4 years.

Two of those individuals made it possible for us to get started.

Jim Woods, was our first donor.  He believed that we shouldn’t be held back due to lack of funds.  He believed we were heading in the right direction….  We thank him for his continued support and for believing in us from the very beginning.

Vikram Bubber also deserves a HUGE thank you..  Vik helped Tanya come up with the name of the organization.  Vik also helped us get our first website registered and started.
