As young adults, I'm sure we have all wondered where to find people like us. You know, young adults who have gone through a cancer diagnosis. The following websites should help you in this area. All of the links below offer some type of support to young adult cancer survivors.

Cancer Care

A diagnosis of cancer in your 20s or 30s comes at a time when you least expect to be worrying about your health. At CancerCare, you can speak one-on-one with a social worker or get connected to a group of other young adults facing similar concerns. It's important to be able to talk with people who understand your unique challenges and concerns.

Cancer Survivors Unite

Our mission is to provide supportive programs and informational resources to young adults, between 18 and 40 years old, affected by a cancer diagnosis. (267-738-8760)

Cancer Hope Network

Cancer Hope Network provides free, confidential, one-on-one support to people with cancer and their families. (1-877-HOPENET)

Cancer Buddies Network

Our aim is to create a haven where people living through similar cancer experiences, be they patients, caregivers, or family and friends, can get together with others in the same situation and even in the same part of the world (maybe even up the road!) for the purpose of giving and receiving cancer support, sharing, comparing, chatting and making long-lasting friendships.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Survivorship Program In 1983, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, under the direction of Dr. Anna T. Meadows, started the first program to care for and track long-term survivors of childhood cancers. The programs goals are to: Improve the health and well-being of childhood cancer survivors by promoting adherence to a schedule of follow-up appointments, Provide referrals to specialists as needed, Offer psychological counseling, Transition patients, parents and healthcare professionals about long-term effects of cancer treatment.

Young adults started this website to share their engaging and unique ways of educating people (esp. young adults) about colorectal cancer.

CommuniCancer

Cancer affects us not only physically, but mentally as well. Focus is usually placed on the physical aspects of cancer, but what about the emotional aspects? Enter CommuniCancer, the first site of its kind to provide a social networking platform for cancer patients and cancer survivors to come together and help one another.

I'm Too Young For This

I{2}Y is proud to be an emerging leader in health resource literacy, patient education and cancer education for the adolescent and young adult community. This website also produces a weekly pod cast called the Stupid Cancer Show. (877-735-4673)

Navigating the New Normal

The Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, in partnership with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, is excited to offer a new program to help young adults navigate the “new normal” that a cancer diagnosis brings. Navigating the New Normal is a program to provide support and education for individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 in the Philadelphia region who are living with cancer or a history of cancer. Rethink Breast Cancer

Rethink Breast Cancer is a charity helping young people who are concerned about and affected by breast cancer through innovative breast cancer education, research and support programs. Survivor Alert

As a young adult cancer survivor, you've been through a lot! As a result, you are wiser and stronger today. To make your future as healthy as possible, know about your long-term risks and get skills to take action.

Team Survivor

Team Survivor is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Affiliates provide group exercise and support programs for women with a present or past diagnosis of cancer. Women of all ages and fitness levels and in all stages of cancer treatment and recovery are welcome. Team Survivor is open to women who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer. Team Survivor programs vary from city to city. All Affiliates focus on providing fun group exercise opportunities, fitness education and peer support.

Vital Options

Is a not-for-profit cancer communications, support and advocacy organization whose mission is to facilitate a global cancer dialogue by using communications technology to reach every person touched by cancer. (1-800-GRP-ROOM)

Young Cancer Spouses

Our mission is to bring together young spouses of adults with cancer to share information, support, and experiences.

Young Empowered Survivors

A Cancer Support Group Serving Young Adults Along Colorado's Front Range. They also offer a variety of resources that may be helpful to you.

Young Survival Coalition
